Create a leading biomanufacturing industry by leveraging the region’s robust biotech ecosystem and providing opportunities to traditionally underserved communities and populations.
BioConnects New England is leveraging the region’s position as the largest hub for biotechnology research and discovery to create a robust biomanufacturing industry, and accelerate innovation and economic growth in the northeast.
Build Back Better Regional Challenge
BioConnects New England is a cluster-based coalition and Phase 1 finalist of the Build Back Better Regional Initiative, a $1 billion grant competition led by the US Economic Development Agency.
BioConnects New England is focused on creating equity and economic growth through opportunity and existing resources. The coalition’s goal of coupling biomanufacturing facilities with the area’s well-established and internationally-known biotech sector will provide the infrastructure needed to grow the industry beyond its current footprint and provide jobs and opportunities for communities often overlooked or ignored.
